16 days of activism: Orange the World: #HearMeToo, end violence against women and girls

From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. The international campaign originated from the first Women's Global Leadership Institute coordinated by the Center for Women's Global Leadership in 1991.

Gender Perspectives as member of WAVE mobilised Belarus NGOs to support the Istanbul Convention

Gender Perspectives as active member of the Advisory Board of WAVE network mobilised efforts of eight Belarus NGOs to support the Istanbul Convention of the Council of Europe. WAVE has forwarded a response letter in reaction to a potentially damaging letter, which demanded changes to the wording of the Istanbul Convention, sent to the Council of Europe.

Stockholm Forum on Gender Equality to bring together top names from more than 100 countries

Award-winning author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Executive Director of UN Women Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and human rights counsellor Colin Gonsalves are some of the 500 gender equality actors who will participate in the Stockholm Forum on Gender Equality on 15–17 April. The global forum is about strengthening women’s and girls’ rights, representation and access to resources.

Side meeting on combating trafficking in human beings organized by the Belarusian side and IOM in Belarus at the 26th Summer Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held in Minsk on July 6.
